Practical Details

 !

A brief overlook of our Cruising Immersion Seminars

We left our land roots in 1984 and have been traveling the world since then. As we traveled we came to the conclusion that cruising the 7 seas on one’s own vessel was the best way to do discover the world at ones own pace and with a modest budget (if well prepared)!

We have met countless sailors in our cruising … some of them had a great time but… too many didn’t enjoy the cruising life like they thought they would ... and they ended up selling their boat after a less than pleasant cruise. If those dreamers had been more aware of what ‘real’ cruising was, they could have better prepared themselves or perhaps opt for an alternative way of travel as cruising is not for everyone!

We decided in 2006 to offer a practical approach to cruising to people contemplating the cruising life. With our background of teaching and our pleasure in sharing our experiences, it looked like a natural thing for us to offer! Come and join us for 1 or 2 weeks of real cruising life. We are in Vanuatu at the present time but later we will continue our South Pacific voyage in New Caledonia, Solomons, Papua New Guinea and who knows where the wind will push us !

Learn what the reality of cruising is … not what certain glossy magazine want you to believe! Understand what knowledge is necessary and how to obtain it. Start you practical experience and seamanship with us. Put your hands with Luc in engines, electric equipment, computers and other technical stuff. Learn about ship’s delicious cooking and woman’s competencies with Jackie. Learn how to sail … snorkel and/or scuba with us … see how Zoetje and Zenne, our 2 Schipperke dogs are enjoying the cruising life … and many other things.

No question is dumb … If you are interested to learn what cruising is about … this IS a perfect way to find out if this life is for you and your partner! Better to find out before selling the house and spending it all on the cruising dream. If you like to be pampered and do nothing yourself, charter a crewed vessel instead of going cruising !

Read further on our website for more info and do not hesitate to email us any questions. We like what we do and love to help anyone contemplating this alternate lifestyle !

The crew:

Luc Callebaut was born in Belgium and was teaching in Brussels from 79 till 84 when he decided to leave for warm climates and less crowded places. Being a diver and a scuba instructor since 1974, joining Club Med as a scuba GO was a natural way to start traveling around the world.

Jackie Lee was born in Northern California and was a US Forest ranger until 84 when she decided to leave to join the Club Med GO team diving in warm seas. It happened that she was sent to Guadeloupe, in the Caribbean, where Luc happened to be sent 1 month later from Europe.
